Critic Reviews
If you're like me and think that any Pacino movie is sort of worth seeing, so long as he never says, "Hoo-ha," then 88 Minutes won't be a total disappointment.
Read the full reviewAlthough it's often laugh-out-loud laughably bad, 88 Minutes is mostly just a slog.
Read the full reviewNot merely Pacino's over-mannered, near-histrionic performance, but the movie itself could be characterized as busy, busy, busy. It's so full of plot twists and revelations and exploding sports cars that its very perkiness comes to seem comic.
Read the full reviewOne of the dumbest thrillers to arrive it theaters in a long time.
Read the full reviewThis may be the most preposterous movie of the year. It is certainly the most ridiculous movie starring an Oscar-winning actor.
Read the full reviewI've seen Pacino over the edge. This is not it. He looks pooped and pickled. Maybe being the only thing standing between a megaplex opening and a trip straight to the $4.99 bin at Target wiped him out.
Read the full reviewI'm guessing it's the pressure of an idiot script by Gary Scott Thompson and understandably clueless direction from Jon Avnet that forces Pacino to ham it up so vigorously that you want to garnish him with cloves and a slice of pineapple.
Read the full reviewThis ridiculous thriller would be hard-pressed to last much longer than its title in theaters before doing time on DVD, as is already the case in many overseas territories.
Read the full reviewActually, it's pretty much the definition of absurd.
Read the full reviewLudicrous in the extreme, the picture easily snatches from "Revolution" the prize as Al Pacino's career worst.
Read the full reviewA stinker, the more so for the thespian excesses of the accomplished cast.

Pacino miscast
"I couldn't believe for a minute Pacino stared in this movie. He was totally miscast and too old for the part. His hair and beard were so fake looking. He is a much better actor than this role in the movie. I was sorry I wasted the money to see this picture. Better luck next time."
Are you kidding me?!?
"I really thought this would be great - at least good - hopefully okay - ... I thought wrong! This had no suspense - it was not thrilling - trying to pull off the idea that everyone was in on it like Agatha Christy does just left me not caring at all who really did it. And what the hec was with Al Pacino (whom I usually love) and his hair - plus that was a nice tan he had during the school year in Seattle. I wouldn't even recommend waiting until dvd - wait until you want to punish yourself for being bad and watch it on network tv - if they even want to show it. I give it an 'F'"
great movie
"this movie was way better than i thought it would be-- def go see it"
Ask for your money back at the Theater!
"If you have been conned into see this movie, or any other rotten movie, insist the movie theater refunds your money to send a message to those who made the film, or you will just be encouraging them to make more bad movies. It is up to you to bring them back to reality. I personally am annoyed with the 'plants' they hire to post positive reviews of films that are real losers, so they could con you into paying to see it in order to alleviate THEIR problem of making a really bad film."
Incoherent rubbish film
"I would rather have slammed my hand in the car door than watch this pathetic movie. bjonesmedia, Santa Fe"
Taunt, suspensful thriller... much better than I thought it would be
"Ignore the negative reviews. This film is a pretty good suspense story. Al has to find out who is trying to kill him and how they are connected to a killer he helped put away years before. As a professor at a college Al suspects a lot of his students as possible suspects in whoever is taunting him. There is a constant nice pace to the film.. no dragging and boring parts. If you enjoy people racing against the clock to find the killer this movie is much better than all the negative reviews would lead you to believe."
Worth Seeing
"Really not sure why this movie is getting such bad reviews from critics and movie-goers. It's not the best movie ever. But if you like a crime/thriller, then I think you'll enjoy. Yeh, some parts are a bit over the top...but that never seems to be a problem for, say, Bruce Willis fans! Go. Kick back. Enjoy. It's worth it."
Horrible movie
"I expected a really good, cool movie, but what I got was nightmares for life! Do not go see thins movie, the ending was horrific and gross. It was real torture."
We really liked it!
"It wasn't his absolute best movie, but it was really worth seeing! We are huge Pacino fans and we loved it! Good plot, great twists, he had a tender side and a tough side... I don't wanna be hard on him on this one... the ending was an on the edge of your seat ending and loved it! We did wonder how many takes he had to do to get all the running scenes in...I mean he's pushing 70? And he ran like 35...we found that a little incredulous, but hey, he looked great doing it! All in all, we're glad we went...it was entertaining and that's what we paid for!"
Worst movie I've seen in awhile
"I'm a fan of Al Pacino so I kept asking myself throughout the whole movie what kind of a financial pickle Al must be in to do such a terribly written movie. It got so bad that it turned into a comedy shortly after it started as movie goers laughed from one ridiculous seen to the next. Al looked totally confused and befuddled as the lines painfully came from his mouth. Almost as if he knew that this was all a terrible mistake but the contracts were already signed. If your looking for a classic "How to end a great actor career movie" then I would absolutely suggest this movie to you"
