Slate | David Edelstein

Armageddon is awesome, dude, but it's, like, short on awe.

It might make you tense, it might make you nauseous, and its clangorous roar could well give you a migraine headache.

Armageddon is a testosterone and adrenaline cocktail, with almost no intelligence added for flavoring.

The actors mark time, and the gung-ho heroics on display are embarrassingly hollow.

Bay doesn't stage scenes, exactly -- he stages moments.

Los Angeles Times | Kenneth Turan

Director Michael Bay's filmmaking style is so frantic and frenetic that it's often impossible to figure out exactly what is happening.

The Onion (A.V. Club) | Keith Phipps

Bay directs Armageddon in a way that seems more concerned with constantly assaulting the senses than anything else, hoping perhaps that the quick cuts and constant explosions will distract from his film's many flaws.

An assault on the eyes, the ears, the brain, common sense and the human desire to be entertained.

San Francisco Chronicle | Bob Graham

There are barrages of fast cuts to distract us from the fact that the director is showing us no real action.

Variety | Todd McCarthy

Much of the confusion, as well as the lack of dramatic rhythm or character development, results directly from Bay's cutting style, which resembles a machine gun stuck in the firing position for 2 and a half hours.

So predictable it could have been written by a chimp who's watched too much TV, the huge movie is as dumb as it is loud, and it's way too loud.

FROM THE DOORMEN TO SECURITY

"I had a little problem at the star room 4th of july weekend and the head of security GINO I believe was his name was such a huge part of making my first night at the starroom memorible. The cute guys at the front door who were working the list treated me and my friends like movie stars. Yes it is hard to get into but the inside an the energy of this place was amazing. The owner of the club came up to us and introduced himself to us. the bartenders and even the barbacks were always at our table asking if we needed anything. This place was so packed only a mole can get through but on the flip side who likes a empty club. If you only knew what celebrities were inside i was like whoa!!!!!!!! def a regular now at the staroom"

The Best Movie Yet!!!!!

"Armageddon is the best movie yet!! If anyone can make a better movie, it would be VERY surprising. If you ever read the back cover of Armageddon's movie case, it says "This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat forgetting to breath" Well, after watching this movie, I've realized that this is true!! I cried a lot during this movie!! I also laughed alot because of some of some of the humor!! If you haven't seen this movie yet,go see it!!"
