Not funny BUT racial
"I saw this movie on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 10 pm in Snellville, GA. It was recommended by a friend, so I went. I was insulted by the two racial stereotypical lines in the movie. "Oh, don't bring home one of those blacks babies, like the actors do. Oh see my new black baby". And, "you got baby momma drama! Ask any black man about baby momma drama...he'll know". As to insinuate that people of other races don't have "baby momma drama" and other races don't adopt children of other races. I didn't like the movie at all and found it very degrading of blacks (as a race) and of people who can not bare children naturally. Two (2) thumbs down!"
give it a forty
"Went to see this with my sister, after reading several fairly good reviews. Very disappointing!!! Cliche characters, and jokes were set up way in advance. Unfunny premise on the part of the surrogate, guessed the ending WAY in advance. As disappointing as "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". Both films are forgetable."
Whole theater laughed repeatedly
"We found this movie very funny glad we went to see it! The rest of you who griped about this movie are jus perfectionist and unpleaseable! JMO!"
Awesomely Funny
"I saw this with my BFF, and we laughed until we were crying. We went back to see it again less than a week later! The humor very easily could have been over the top, however it was perfectly done with a sweet ending. This is easily the funniest movie I have seen in a very long time."
freakin awesome!
"this movie was the best i have seen in a while! i was very happy with it but i do agree that they showed the funniest parts in the comercials which made me kinda mad. but otherwise it was an awesome movie."
AMAZING
"I loved this movie. I laughed my head off through the entire thing. I cannot wait to see it again!!"
Just OK
"The funniest parts of the movie are the same shown on the commercial. The middle got very boring that I actually fell asleep. Started off good, but then flopped. I was disappointed especially since I had to pay like $30 to drive to the movie theatre, $5 for a bottle of water and got a horrible movie. Could have been better written."
A 5 minute SNL skit becomes a LONG movie........
"I've seen a lot of movies and unless your a 35 year old woman with hormone issues ...Stay Away from this movie. Maybe this would have been a funny skit on Saturday Night Live .....BUT....This movie was TERRIBLE. Full of cliches and forced characters - ( Steve Martin and the lisping birthing instructor) made it even more annoying. Given the choice between a root canal and this movie - I'll take the dentist!!!"
love tina fay and amy poehler but...
""Baby Mama" starts off as a funny and fun movie but about half way there's a weak plot twist that I would've forgiven if it wasn't for the lame ending. Too bad too because there are several funny moments but as others have pointed out most if not all of those are shown in the preview. "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" is a much funnier film. Go see that instead. Love Tina Fay. Wish SHE had written the script!"
Best new release in a while
"I was pleasantly surprised by the wit and wisdom in this movie. Comedy characters who grow and show some depth are the real deal so this script, the actors and the director have my sincere admiration. Well worth seeing."
****
"Some of you "reviewers" are crazy! and can;t tell the difference between a good and bad movie... Because I thought this movie was sooo GOOD! it was soo funny> I saw it with a bunch of my friends on opening night and me, along with all my friends thought it was super good and hil-ar-i-ous!"
Not worth your time
"I love both of these actresses. They are the funniest in SNL. To bad none of that caries over to a motion length film...the funniest guy in the movie is the black door man! Give him more lines and the movie would be a good one! I just seemed to keep dragging on, and many parts were just awkwardly uncomfortable."
Very Funny Movie !!!
"I haven't watched SNL in years so I'm not familiar with these two women but I thought that this movie was hilarious. A few scenes were a little too "over the top" for my taste but for the most part, I thought it was very funny and everybody else laughed out loud several times too. Also, there were a few twists that kept it really interesting and the end was perfect."
Who edited this film? Where boom mics part of the style?
"I liked the Movie... but why did they show all the boom mic's and grip equipment? I don't know if we just had the mmmm honor of an un-edited version... but basically the top foot of the film didn't belong.... I'd love to see the film baby momma again... perhaps without the distraction 2-3 microphones in every shot."
Walked Out
"The funnest scenes in this ,ovie are shown in the trailer..First movie this year I walked out of...shame cause I love both the actresses."
