It's a heartbreaking, bullet-strewn valentine to what keeps us human.
Read the full reviewIt's a work of art that deserves a space cleared for its angry, nervous beauty.
Read the full reviewThis is an extraordinary artistic breakthrough from a Mexican director who was already fearlessly good to begin with.
Read the full reviewChildren of Men may be something of a bummer, but it?s the kind of glorious bummer that lifts you to the rafters, transporting you with the greatness of its filmmaking.
Read the full reviewThe performances are crucial, because all of these characters have so completely internalized their world that they make it palpable, and themselves utterly convincing.
Read the full reviewChildren of Men is Cuarón's run for freedom, with a riveting story, fantastic action scenes and acting so universally solid that even the dogs perform masterfully under his direction.
Read the full reviewI don't just mean it's one of the best movies of the past six years. Children of Men, based on the 1992 novel by P.D. James, is the movie of the millennium because it's about our millennium, with its fractured, fearful politics and random bursts of violence and terror.
Read the full reviewMade with palpable energy, intensity and excitement, it compellingly creates a world gone mad that is uncomfortably close to the one we live in. It is a "Blade Runner" for the 21st century, a worthy successor to that epic of dystopian decay
Read the full reviewWorking with his longtime cinematographer Emmanuel "Chivo" Lubezki, Cuaron creates the most deeply imagined and fully realized world to be seen on screen this year, not to mention bravura sequences that bring to mind names like Orson Welles and Stanley Kubrick.
Read the full reviewCuarón has a gift only the greatest filmmakers share: He makes you believe.
Read the full reviewPicture more than delivers on the action front -- not in bang-for-your-buck spectacle but in the kind of gritty, doculike sequences that haul viewers out of their seats and alongside the main protags.
Read the full reviewOwen carries the film more in the tradition of a Jimmy Stewart or Henry Fonda than a Clint Eastwood or Harrison Ford. He has to wear flip-flops for part of the time without losing his dignity, and he never reaches for a weapon or guns anyone down. Cuaron and Owen may have created the first believable 21st-century movie hero.

TOO MANY CHEFS RUIN THE CHILDREN OF MEN
"P.D. James wrote a compelling story with strong characters, and a PLOT. These screen writers ruined it. Didn't make a lick of sense after they sliced and diced it."
AWESOME
"This movie was fantastic! From beginning to end"
This Movie Sucked!
"All I can say is OH MY GOD! I wasted my valuable time watching this boring movie. The professional critics must be on crack. IT SUCKED! Boring, Boring, Boring! I only watched it to see what the hell happens, and of course they tell you NOTHING! So dissapointed! I was so angry that I wasted my time!"

AWESOME!!
"This movie had a good story line and the acting was superb."
OVERRATED!
"I'm sorry but I totally disagree with the critics high ratings for this movie. I just didn't think it was that great at all. It doesn't even answer the most important questions such as how was she able to get pregnant, who got her pregnant, and why she was able to carry the pregnancy through successfully. This movie lacked depth."
See ANYTHING else !!
"This piece of cinematic flotsam has a most interesting premise. All women the world over have become infertile, which ought to inspire some fascinating insights. Instead, we are presented with a protracted period of army types quelling insurgents, complete with rival factions, and uncut coverage of battles through a "blood" spattered camera. There are few (if any) explanations for anything that happens in the film, shot in flat light, and with Michael Caine as an aged hippie gone to pot. If you want a second rate shoot-em-up film, by all means see this. But if you're intrigued by the thought of a world without children, you'll be terribly disappointed and more than a little insulted at the film's lack of intelligence. Grade F."
BAD, BAD, BAD
"I was so disappointed in the movie. It is the first SciFi movie I EVER wanted to walk out on. The plot is very predictable. It's a bunching together of plots from other older much better movies. There was ZERO depth to the plot. If I was editing this movie it would have been a SHORT FILM. That's about how much of a plot there was. Instead of 108 minutes of boredom it could have been edited to an OK 30 minute film. The only good thing I can say about the movie was the camera work."
wut up cuaron good jizzob
"The movie was awesome hands down. cuaron is a friggin genuis stay on the up and up baby boy"
