EPIC FAIL
"A cross between Godzilla and Blair Witch Project. Not in a good way."
worse than plan nine
"worst movie of last 7 decades.. my 14-yo boy could have done better with a sony handy-cam. austin popper"
unbelievable
"Cloverfield kept my interest for the duration of the movie, but it was totally unrealistic - obviously that's what kept my attention! But, the characters kept making dumb decisions and that is the only thing that kept the plot moving. Not recommended unless there's nothing else at the rental store."
Still Waiting!
"At this point, I'm still waiting for the story to begin. Cloverfield had a mindboggling beginning. Unfortunately, the beginning never ended. What started out as a rivetting movie became lost in its own lack of development. I finished watching this unkind attempt at moviemaking, only because I didn't want the money I spent on it to be a total loss! Warning--> Don't waste your time!!!"
It has that Twlight Zone feel
"I liked the movie; the beginning answers all the questions before the film even starts. It does remind me of something army guys would pass around inside a dark bunker saying, "You gotta watch civilian 'Cloverfield' tape." You get to see the what that military guy is seeing, of course he knows the whole story, so that doesn't need to be explained."
Scene "Four" Play
"We only got to scene four before we realized that we had made a mistake and had opted to watch this movie instead of having sex.Never saw scene five."
NOT SO BAD
"I finished watching the movie last night and from what it is written in the reviews that I have seen people are saying that it was not a good movie, I beg to differ, if people used their imaginations they would understand this movie. This movie leaves you in suspense to think what is going on and if you watch the ending credits you will see why? Not a bad movie it did have action it did have suspense........"
Don't let another Blair Witch get your money.
"I watched this movie on DVD, waiting because I had a bad feeling about it when I saw the original trailer. Now I feel completely justified in not going to the theater and sorry so sorry for anyone who is now thinking of purchasing this DVD. If you have to watch it, rent it. Bad acting, bad story. Even the monsters are not that great, appearing to be a mishmosh of several monsters easily identifiable if you watch as many horror movies as I do. That being said, there are still a great number of people who think the Blair Witch Project is a great movie. If you are one of those people, Cloverfield is definitely the movie for you."
By far the most awful movie I have ever anticipated watching.
"With all the previews on TV about this movie, we thought there would be more to this movie than it gave us. My husband got up and left within the first 30 minutes because it didn't seem as if the movie was going anywhere. I agree with others, where did the creatures come from, and why?"
what the.......
"This movie had all that advertising and turned out 2 be painful to watch. who's idea was it 2 have someone hold a camcorder through the entire movie? a majority of the movie was at a going away party. no one ever explained why the monster was even there or where it came from. this movie sucked big time! and on top of that the b-rated actors were a joke. I guarantee the writer couldn't have real actors because after reading the script they busted out laughing! my nine year old could have came up with a better story."
Ending
"I am kind of confuse about the ending. What happen to the last two characters after they were under the bridge? Can You'll explain to me what happen/"
Big waste of time.
"They should pay me for going to see this."
confused
"the movie was ok but it left you totally confused. were did the monster come from and why. did new yorkers get rid of it and what about those oversized insects that was attacking people. it was just like the show lost, you get lost watching it."
It was a good movie...
"like not that great but the most favorite parts of the movie is when the monster reveals itself when the military is attacking the monster; My sister and her boyfriend went to go see it in theaters and they said it was awesome because i made u look like u r in the movie I was thinking that was pretty bad-ass right there I'm just saying its a good movie not really a great movie right there"
WHAT????????????????????????????
"It was the worst movie that we have ever watched in a very long time. With all the advertisement for it.We thought the price for it was great until my husband and I watched it. The constant shaking and moving of the camera made it hard to understand the movie. My husband fell asleep during the movie as for me I lost total interest in it and end up turning it off."
Nice Camera
"This camera never breaks and has unlimited battery life, i mean c'mon in the 10 minutes they were in the electronics store they could have at least gotten some batteries, and are you telling me the a helicopter fall wouldn't break the camera or kill them, those were the only flaws all in all it was a fun movie"
THE ONLY REASON PEOPLE DIDNT LIKE THIS MOVIE IS BECAUSE THIER WEAK!:(
"I LOVED THIS MOVIE BEST ACTION MOVIE THERE WILL EVER BE!:)PEOPLE DIDNT LIKE THIS MOVIE IS BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE A STRONG STOMACH!:(I WENT TO GO SEE THIS AWSOME MOVIE WITH MY FRIEND ALEX AND WE LOVED IT.:(IT WAS FREAKING RADICAL!:(SO, ALL THE HATERS THAT HATE THIS MOVIE... YOU ALL ARE HORRIBLE AND HAVE WEAK STOMACHS!:( - BEN FROM youtube.com/BLTproductions7"
Open Your Mind
"This movie is done with a unique vision in that it is told from the point of views of a few direcly involved people. Unlike most movies where the audience is looking at the action, this movie makes you are part of the action. I pushed myself back into my seat at least twice as I was rearing back from the closeness of the monster. If this were in 3-D it would be absolutely terrifying. If you've ever watched a home movie, then you will know what to expect. I give the director an A for originality and creativity. By the way, I got a headache and my stomache was upset from the craziness of the camera. Most reviewers said the same, and the theater had warnings posted. If you can't ride spinning rides, then you will get sick watching this."
The Worst Movie I have EVER Seen
"This movie lacked pretty much everything that a good movie did. A plot, good acting, relevance... It had absolutely nothing to offer the movie world and frankly made me sick to my stomach. The camera man had freaking Parkinson's Disease, and couldn't hold a good angle to save his life, and they didn't explain ANYTHING about what was even going on. The main plot was to save some winey brat from her appartment, and they ended up risking EVERYONE'S life to do so... I only wasted $3.50 on the movie and I still demanded my money back... I would really really wonder about the person who enjoyed this absolute slap in the face to hollywood."
IT WAS TERRIBLE!!! DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!
"I WATCHED THIS MOVIE. IT HAD NO PLOT THE MILITARY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING, THE MONSTER LOOKED LIKE A GIANT GRASSHOPPER BUG THING, AND FRANKLY IT LOOKED LIKE ONE OF MY CHEAP HOMEADE VIDEOS. AND I AM ONLY 13 WITH A CHEAP KINGSTON MINI CAMERA. IT GOT ME SICK AND I THREW UP. I ALSO THOUGHT THE CAMERAMAN HAD PAULSEY, OR WHATEVER IT IS CALLED WHEN YOU SHAKE YOUR HANDS ALOT. NOW HERE IS WHAT MY 19 YEAR OLD BROTHER SAID-This movie got me sick. It made me throw up, get motion sickness, and i stayed dizzy throughout the next day. I wasted in all $21.50 on this movie. If you don't believe me search up "Cloverfield Disease" on Google."
Blair Witch meets Godzilla
"The whole movie was from a amateur video tape like the Blair Witch Project and pretty much started to nauseate me mid-way through the movie. The special effects with the monster were great but it had an abrupt ending that totally left the audience guessing what happened. I would definately not waste my money on seeing it had i known."
HOLY CRAP!!
"This movie was great! I actually makes you feel for the characters. I is almost like you are their (I actually covered my head a few times)I. People keep saying that you don't see the monster, but you see the monster up close and personal for a good minutes and honestly that is enough. The thing is actually standing over your head for a minute. If the movie was filmed any other way, it would just be another Godzilla like monster movie...This was totally AWESOME!!! It is like you are watching through the camera lense... like you are actually there! I don't care what anyone else says... IT IS A GOOD MOVIE... Definitely work $8.00! If you wait to see it at home it won't be the same... go see it in the theater!"
I can't believe this
"I can't believe I wasted $6.50, and an hour and a half watching this movie. The story of this movie I admit is good but how the story was filmed from a camcorder got me into it but I hate how it's in first person instead of 3rd. If you are going to see CloverField I'd rather see Hannah Montana in 3-D."
The Title...
"When I went to see Cloverfield, I got sick. I convinced my dad to leave half way through the movie. The next day I saw 27 Dresses (Boring). And after that I saw the rest of Cloverfield. But What confused my dad and I was the name of the movie. CLOVERFIELD. What an odd name for the movie... We finally figured it out. So... What did the Creature look like? A giant grasshopper right? What was the creature doing to New York? Wiping it out right? What do grasshoppers (or locusts) do to fields of clover? They WIPE IT OUT.Get it. Got it. Good.Oh, and by the way, It overall was a good movie, even though I got sick. But I think it is one of the shortest movies of all time. 86 minutes I think. ~ By the conservative 13 year old."
Better than Blairwitch Project
"Yeah, but it still sucked. The continual shaking of the camera didnt make me sick but the fact that I actually let myself sit there for the entire movie, sure did. I really didnt know what to expected I saw the preview, and it looked ok. So the movie ends and then what, this isnt regular TV where the second part of the sucky movie will be on next Wednesday and you can finally see what tha heck happens. What a waste of my precious time, I should have gone to go see The Eye with Jessica A."
I Threw Up
"Alright, I went and saw Cloverfield with my best friend and my friend John. As soon as the movie started, within the first 5 minutes, I was already dizzy and getting sick. This had to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. After the initial 5 minutes, i just closed my eyes and put my hood up, then, about 45 minutes later, still ill when opening my eyes, I decided, I had to leave. My best friend and I went to use the restroom, and right as I was about to leave, I vomitted.THANK YOU CLOVERFIELD."
WTF
"Do not waste your money and especially your time going to see the movie, it was terrible, the worst movie I have seen in many years."
Cloverfield 2-11-08
"This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The movie is filmed by the unsteady hand of one of the guys in the movie. It is so shaky that many times I had to look away from the screen. The basic premise was interesting and had good potential but viewing the movie was soooooo bad."
Sequel?
"Yes this movie did have the "blair witch project" filming style but it was definitely a factor that made the movie work for me. I dont like the number of unanswered questions left by this short film which leads me to the other part.. why was it so short? barely more than an hour long.. another thing is when you see the beginning you can see who is "viewing" the horror..after the fact. for those that saw it already you know what I mean.. where are "They"? It makes you feel as though you would get a narrative of the incident but not to be...There must be a sequel in the works considering the way it ends coupled with my last couple of sentences.. Overall, I say.. go see it!"
