Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood Synopsis

Siddalee (Sandra Bullock) just can't relate to her eccentric mother (Ellen Burstyn). When Siddalee moves away and doesn't invite her mother to the wedding, she receives a diary chronicling her mother's life in the 1930s, including the "sisterhood" she and her best friends created. As Siddalee reads the diary, she begins to understand more about her complicated mother -- and herself. Based on the bestselling novel, the movie also stars Ashley Judd as Burstyn's younger counterpart.
