Thesps move to 'Country'
06/06/06Paramount Vantage and Miramax Films have set Woody Harrelson and Stephen Root to star alongside Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem in the Coen brothers' pic "No Country for Old Men." Thriller is based on the Cormac McCarthy novel and is set in West Texas in 1980.

04/26/06Joel and Ethan Coen set Josh Brolin to join Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem in "No Country for Old Men," an adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel. Brolin will play a Vietnam vet who works in the Texas plains and scoops up a bundle of cash he finds at the scene of a drug deal gone bad. The Coens adapted the novel, which is set in West Texas in 1980. Filming begins late spring.
'Country' time for Coens
02/01/06Joel and Ethan Coen are saddling up to film an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's "No Country for Old Men."
Shooting on the production will start this May in New Mexico and Texas. Scott Rudin is producing with Ethan Coen, who wrote the script with his director brother Joel. Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem are in talks to headline what's expected to be a strong ensemble cast. Set in West Texas in 1980, story is about a young Vietnam vet who stumbles over the remnants of a drug deal gone bad. He's hunted by two extremely vicious assassins who want the money back.
