Connects on a gut level in two ways, political and existential.
Read the full reviewAn involving sci-fi action-thriller, probably longer on chase sequences than the original director wanted and shorter on the "ick" factor than the studio wanted.
Read the full reviewStill effectively creepy and surprisingly unnerving despite the occasional misstep and rumors of a troubled production, the new film illustrates why and how the power of the original story remains undiminished more than half a century after its creation.
Read the full reviewThe movie isn't terrible; it's just low-rent and reductive.
Read the full reviewOn the technical side, The Invasion has several first-rate, terrifying action sequences and grips totally from start to finish. But a subplot involving the Russian Embassy doesn't really pay off, and the relationship between Kidman and glum paramour Daniel Craig (another doc) isn't much.
Read the full reviewBuried somewhere within the bipolar extravaganza that is The Invasion is an awfully good movie that got away.
Read the full reviewThe mismatched blending of Hirschbiegel's low-key horror and the Wachowski Brothers' anything-but-low-key action sequences results in a cinematic dud.
Read the full reviewWhatever the case, The Invasion lurches and drags and teeters on the brink of death from scene to scene; it plays as if it had been made by someone in a trance, though not a cool one.
Read the full reviewIt's a shame the aliens are so preachy, because this remake of the 1956 and 1978 versions of Invasion of the Body Snatchers features a top-notch cast in Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig and moments of unnerving terror.
Read the full reviewExcept for one terrifically adroit sequence in a subway, there is nothing understated about The Invasion. With all the shoot-outs, the screaming, the chases, collisions and fireballs, there isn't much time for storytelling.
Read the full reviewHere is a great story born to be creepy, and the movie churns through it like a road company production. If the first three movies served as parables for their times, this one keeps shooting off parable rockets that fizzle out.
Read the full reviewOpting for car chases instead of the thought-provoking ideas of its predecessors, the film looks like the work of, if not pod people, folks who gave up any kind of passion for the material long before the cameras started to roll.

"i mean i expected another one of those zombie flick but what i didnt expect was the throwin up"
I liked it
"I found this movie to be really creepy. I liked it a lot and would probably see it again."
not a bad film!
"man, i was expecting the worst- from the reviews, from the entirely empty theater... pretty interesting, great car crashes.i spotted a bit of her aussie accent. and in one scene, the hematologist (i presume) drew off some of his own blood, usu. if you stick yourself with a vacutainer, with a torniquet, and pull it out, you keep bleeding. pretty quick reference to some not surviving the transformation, not followed up.why were the infected wearing black? pretty quick and simple ending though. i prefer happy endings. life is depressing enough as it is, but an ambiguous ending might've been more interesting."
Nicole Kidman "a republican"?
"Reading these reviews are quite funny. Is the movie good or not that's what these are for. (By the way NK is a duel citizen of AUS"
Too Critical
"I thought the movie was entertaining and worth watching. I disagree with all the critical reviews on this movie, but I guess it's all personal opinion. However, if you aren't very critical and are just looking to watch a good exciting movie and be entertained, I reccommend it. Of all the movies good and bad, that I've seen, this is really one that I feel, does not deserve to get bashed."
best movie
"funny, witty, and clever. This movie haas it all. fun for the whole family (if they all can watch it)"
not bad
"It was better then SUPERBAD!! now there's a movie that fits it's title."
cop out
"The movie was fair but it ended like they ran out of film. The 1987 version was 100 X better. Rent it on DVD, then you can be dissappointeded at home."
Invasion was great
"I don't know what all the "Republican" fuss is about...we saw and enjoyed the movie. It was escapist and fun and, I felt, worth seeing."
