Critic Reviews
A horrifying thriller, smart and tightly told, and merciless.
Read the full reviewUnfolding like a better-than-average episode of a first-rate TV police procedural, Untraceable is a satisfying slice of solidly crafted meat-and-potatoes filmmaking.
Read the full reviewHighly watchable, anchored sturdily by Lane's convincing performance.
Read the full reviewIf Dick Wolf is interested in doing a "Law & Order: Cyber Crimes," he could do worse than to follow the lead of Untraceable, a diverting police procedural about an FBI unit tasked with sleuthing the Internet for mouse-wielding bad guys.
Read the full reviewLane skillfully sells the tech-heavy script. But after a much-too-early reveal of the murderer's identity, the ''low battery'' signal starts to flash on this film by thriller specialist Gregory Hoblit, director of last year's far superior "Fracture."
Read the full reviewThe film, which has the ingredients for a thoughtful, tense thriller throws away a compelling first half so it can descend into silliness and clichés.
Read the full reviewFrom its very first scene, Untraceable isn't the sophisticated, brainy thriller it so nearly could have been, but just another movie about a serial murderer.
Read the full reviewNot only does Untraceable unmask its initially hidden killer with little ceremony, it's the sort of film that telegraphs every new development.
Read the full reviewIt's a warmed-over suspense thriller that's more disturbing than it is surprising or scary.
Read the full reviewA wan version of the same old tired serial killer story, despite its updated milieu -- cyberspace.
Read the full reviewYou may view Untraceable, as I do, as a repugnant example of the voyeurism it pretends to condemn.
Read the full reviewTalk about your pious frauds. I've got a better way to show your disgust for Internet scum: Don't see Untraceable.
Read the full reviewAs plain awful as Untraceable is, possibly the worst thing about it is that it pretends to mean something.

Where was the acting????
"This was a slimmed down version of SAW.The only I actually saw was from the daughterof the Diane Lane character. Boring!"
Terrible! Terrible! Terrible!
"This movie was awful! The ratings this movie received are ridiculous! I mean, come on, did you all watch it with your eyes closed or something? And can I please have the two hours of my life back that I waisted watching this movie, Mr. director! Maybe I should change careers if its this easy to make a terrible movie, and it be successful! Lets see what else, oh ya, the plot is about as thick as a sheet of notebook paper, and this movie is so predictable! I thought FBI agents were suppost to be intellegent, guess I was wrong! You know that feeling when your watching a horror movie and they fall down, or walk toward the loud noise, yes you know what I'm talking about, it gives you that "irritating" feeling the whole time! The ending is awful, it just stops! Come on Hollywood, my 5 year old nephew could have written better script! Please do not watch this movie and save your money! You will thank me! I rate this movie negative 5 stars if it would let me!"
Pretty Good
"I thought it was suspenceful and enjoyed it. Could have done a little better casting for Lane's mother."
Good, but could have been better....
"As most of the reviews state here, this movie script was tightly woven and executed well. For the most part, the movie was filled with suspense and was decently gripping. It's a good back and forth playoff between the good (law enforcement) and the bad (killer). The ONLY part that killed it was the ending. It was somewhat cheesy, seemed rushed and could have ended so much better had the writers put forth a little more thought. I left feeling as though the movie ended way too quickly. But overall, the movie was pretty good. I would give it 3 1/2 stars (on a 5 star scale)."
Pure Garbage
"Diana Lane must be on the way down to appear in a picture this bad. This movie is JUNK, it should receive an oscar for worst picture of the decade. Shame on you Diana Lane!!!"
Hear me roar
"Held my interest from the beginning. A fast faced thrillerwith a terrific final scene. Sadly, a believable script."
Shock value slasher gets a facelift.
"Gory and predictable in the extreme, untraceable delivers a few tingling moments to counteract all the standard shock. The high-tech angle is something that hasn't been expored too often in the horror genre and it was good to see in this movie. So in that regard, the cyber approach was much appreciated. However, the character development was sadly lacking and for how creative the kills may have been, you found yourself without a shred of concern for anyone. Nothing is worse in a movie than when you realize the actors are "acting". Untraceable had a strong message to send about the irresponsibility and callousness of the internet community, but it was utterly lost through blood, guts, and cheap thrills. Shame."
A Must See Movie
"Untraceable kept you in suspension from beginning to end. Although a much to early view of the killer, Diana's performance was incredible. It was a little gruesome at times but it was definitly a good movie and i would go see it agian."
Modern day Dirty Harry
"Could't help but watch and compare to Dirty Harry of the 70's, my how the computer has changed our world. I'm still bruised from where my wife kept grabbing my arm."
